HI I GOT A TUMBLR
it is under the name of 'kingofcarnies.tumblr.com'
Could you guess it?
Bet you don't know what my facebook url is, either. Hahaha.
Jk it's kingofcarnies.
QUICK WHAT IS MY E-MAIL
Anyway, between nervous breakdowns and scrupulous sprucing up of my room I haven't been doing much of anything lately that isn't schoolwork. I mean, I'm updating tumblr and stuff, but, let's face it- tumblr isn't really blogging.
It's a lot easier and a whole lot more fun. I don't have to express my deepest secrets or come up with anything witty to say every time I update, with the added bonus that people think I'm fucking awesome for just uploading a picture of the Spy from Team Fortress 2 graphitizing a building.
I have also broken fixed my chair.
With duct tape.
Oh yeah.

Things that are interesting right now:
- Plain white tee shirts {Not that band, PWTs, they suck}
- My lovely thick totally-not-gopher-colored hair
- Saying "Shangri-La" out loud
- Changing my default Windows Startup Sound to this
- Apparently, Howard the Duck
Things that make me want to vomit:

AAH guess who is even better at disappearing than
The Hot Librarian? Me, that's who. Yeah sorry I've been gone. My school schedule looks kind of like this:
US History WITH THE CRAZIEST TEACHER EVER. He likes Dancing With the Stars and American Idol and his pet cat. I have no doubt in my mind that this man is a huge
bear.
American Lit WITH A WEIRD LADY WHO MAY HAVE A MUSTACHE. Idk, guys. Idk.
Marine Science which is like the hardest class ever. Seriously, there are no tests and there's no studying (as far as I've gathered). It's just one ground-out assignment after the next.
French II with my nice teacher from last year who is actually from the Franchland.
"Skills for Health" which is the dumbest name for "SMOKING AND DRINKING AND SEX WILL RAPE YOUR SOUL" class.
Business Math which is just learning how to pay taxes. Which sucks
ass.
Not to mention my two volunteer jobs and trying to keep my possibly actually retarded cat from peeing on everything I own and balancing Team Fortress 2 and OH YEAH
NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS, GUYS
NERVOUS BREAKDOWNS
So I'm going to therapy and stuff. Starting soon. Idk. Prozac will be discussed in the near future. But my life is just so exciting right now, can't wait to talk to you about it later.
Love and junk and oh god where is my purpose

I don't file my taxes every single year,
I guess that it's the IRS I really, really fear;
I guess that's bad of me, it doesn't show a lot of class,
But every time I do they seem to fuck me up the ass!
HEY GUYS sorry I haven't updated in like forever. I just have been so busy. You can expect more updates when school starts, because I'm always looking for ways to waste time when I should be studying American History.
By the way, I'm totally taking American lit., too. I love my classes this year. Being a junior rocks. I feel like, really freaking old, though, like I should be still learning my words and taking spelling tests every Friday morning. OH SECOND GRADE WHERE HAVE YOU GONE
Camp sucked and rocked on many different levels this year. I learned a lot of new junk and got to put it to use, which was exciting, because that means I'm one step closer to being an effective camp counselor, but my CIT group is still full of bitches and the staff members are still gossipy brats and nobody really seems to uphold the values that that camp is supposed to represent. Hello, it's Girl Scout camp? I didn't come to hear Ringo jabbering about how Ariom is allegedly sleeping around with everybody in my CIT group. I didn't come to find out that Ritz and Puttee are making out in the bunk across from me while I'm asleep.
I most certainly didn't come to have my life put in danger when the autistic CIT broke a window right behind me, and threatened physical violence several times.
Who let her in, anyway? I'm not prejudiced against people with mental disabilities, but our Camp Director knows she can never be staff. This girl is prone to violent emotional outbursts, and because she's autistic, she can't always help herself. We can't have a person like that around the girls, and the fact that it took this long to finally send her home disappoints me.
Jeez. It seems like The Other Disneyland, aka Camp St. Albans might be taking some unwanted turns. I love that place, but I'm not sure I like seeing the staff side of it...
They're so mean to each other sometimes. Shouldn't everybody be, like, really super nice to each other? It's camp. I don't think that friendship should just be a show put on for the campers. I think the counselors should be genuinely appreciative of each other and recognize their strengths and weaknesses without all the drama in between.
Golly. It's given me a lot to think about, though, I mean, with everything that's happened this year. I'm almost afraid to come back next year, just because I don't want to deal with the same bull shit from girls my own age. I heard staff discussing another staff member's possible employment termination in clear view of the girls; they were using names and everything. It didn't matter that I also happened to be four feet away. Did they expect me to just not listen? I wanted to bring it to Lynx, our Camp Director, and Buggaboo, a CIT 3 told me to just 'stay out of it because staff members gossip about other staff members all the time, and it's none of my business and not my place'.
I wasn't going to do it to be a tattletale, I wanted to report their behavior because the girls could obviously hear them. But it kind of gave me an idea of the underlying hierarchy at camp; I'm way at the bottom.
I mean, I guess I should have expected a lot of tension; that place is Estrogen Fest 3000. But I also wish I could expect a level of decency from these people. Especially the staff members. They're adults, damn it. They should know better than to behave like this.
I want to believe that this place still holds the same magic it did ten years ago. I want to believe that all the people there are good.
It's getting a whole lot harder, though. I'll post some pictures later. I took video of our Camp Director playing ukulele, too.

Ugh, I know, I haven't been bothered to post to say that I'm back. But I'm still so busy!
Damn life. Getting in the way of my lack of life.
Maybe this is why most teenagers don't have blogs.
Anyway, in a sum-up, Girl Scout camp was amazing, with the exception of some spiteful bitches, school is almost here, and I now own a Disney music collection to rival the best. It has every song and ambience track from the parks and the movies.
This includes Walt's Dedication Speech and the train/monorail monologues.
I HAVE IT ALL

In order to make myself feel better, and perhaps provide some insight to those less fortunate than myself, here are:
TEN WAYS TO BEAT THE MISERABLE MIDNIGHT HEAT
So yeah it's been like sixty-five to seventy degrees at night here, and since I live in mild, coastal Tacoma, I know it's gotta be miserable elsewhere. I hate the heat more than anybody except maybe my dad and some other generously-weighted folks. In case you're looking for some nifty tricks to stay cool at night so you're not up until three AM crying, "WHY ME?", here they are:
- SLEEP NAKED. Okay, you don't really have to be naked, but you definitely want to strip down as much as possible. I've been going commando for the last few nights, wearing nothing but thin jammy-shorts and a tank top, and I'd suggest y'all do the same. But if you're comfy in your birthday suit, that's fine with me. I'll send you a card.
- A BOWL OF ICE IS NICE. But a cat is fine, too. Seriously, though, if you have a fan in your room {because you're unfortunate enough to not have air conditioning or your parents won't share; ...hint}, get a bowl with short sides and fill it with ice and a little water. Put the bowl in front of your fan and let a cool breeze flow. I don't know how it works, but it does. My dad taught it to me.
- WATER. Don't drink soda at night, or juice; gatorade is also a no-no. Cold water is the best thing for you, because you just don't need electrolytes or sugar or caffeine that late at night and staying hydrated will cool your body off naturally.
- OPEN YOUR WINDOWS. That's right; let the burglars and rapists in! Seriously, though, you have to keep your windows open to catch a cross-breeze. Put a fan in the window sill, and it'll pull the air in. Even if it's warm air from outside, it's still fresh, and better than the soon-to-be stagnant indoor air you've got trapped inside your home. Most windows come with safety latches, so your window doesn't have to be open all the way, but I know folks that stick bits of wood or plastic in the frame so they can have the window open wider, and still eliminate the risk of potential home invaders.
- TAKE THE BLANKETS OFF. If you're like me, you have to be covered at night; at least a little. You can't even take a nap during the day if your torso isn't snuggled up against something warm. But taking the blankets off the bed and sleeping in the sheets, or sleeping on top of the blankets will drastically improve things, and still keep you cozy at night.
- PUT YOUR HAIR UP. If you have hair that touches or grows beyond your neck, sling it back in a ponytail; but don't use hairspray or product to put it up; the heat will make it smell awful and your hair will be a bitch to wash out in the morning. Just tie it back loosely so your neck can catch cool air; there's nothing worse than having a hot neck or face at night.
- GET A COOL RAG. Soak a washcloth or a little towel in cold water or wrap it around an ice pack. Keep it handy or put it on your forehead. It'll make your whole body feel a lot cooler. Just remember to wring it out so the sheets aren't wet. Ew.
- TAKE A COOL SHOWER. Before you go to bed, or if you find you can't sleep at night {even after you followed all of my awesome tips!}, take a cold shower. I'm not talking frigid and icy, just something lukewarm or cooling. If you stand under the water and shut your eyes, it'll relax your muscles and cool things down significantly. It doesn't have to be a long shower, either; just enough until you're stumbling into bed with bleary eyes again.
- WHATEVER YOU DO, AVOID YOUR FURRY FRIENDS. Sleeping with your cat or your best bud Spike in the winter might be a heartwarming prospect, but in the summer, 'warm' is the last word you want to hear before you go to sleep. Kick your cuddly compadres out for the night and make it up by slipping them a couple scraps in the morning; if they're especially pissed.
- SLEEP IN A DIFFERENT POSITION OR ROOM. Other rooms might be cooler than your own, especially if you live on the second floor of a domicile. You're out of luck if you're in an apartment, but rooms with big windows or open spaces {living rooms or a master bedroom; if you're not in it} will already be cooler. Sleeping in different positions or places in your room can help, too; if you sleep on your stomach, sleep on your back. If your back faces a window, turn around. Some people can't manage it, but if you're the kind that falls out of bed anyway, it probably won't matter that much.
So there are my ten tips for staying cool in the summer at night. I've tried all these tips over the years, and while some might not work for you, guaranteed, at least one of these will. Good luck, and no, I haven't posted pictures of my Portland excursion yet. They're on my facebook, though, so go look there.

hippies and hipsters and hummus, o mai @ 8:01 PM
Did'ja miss me?
YOU'D BETTER HAVE.
So I was in Portland, Oregon for a week with my best friend, Sarah Jane. I like her, because she's just right in every way- no fucked up family, no drugs, no sex.. you know, somebody my age with my interests and a generally great attitude?
She's photogenic and has an epic frowny face, too, so bonus points.
I was apprehensive about going to Portland for a whole week- I hardly knew her, with the only intel being that she's a Girl Scout and really, really likes Team Fortress 2. I was surprised, therefore, when her mother asked me to come and stay for such a long time.
I was so reluctant to go, at the end, though. Turns out Sarah Jane and I share all of our favorite bands, tops being Cage the Elephant and Gorillaz. Red Hot Chili Peppers is alright by her and loved by me, and the other way around with Cake. She has the greatest room ever, with the unfortunate exception of squeaky floorboards; not good for late-night dancing and arting. We painted and sketched a lot, and she even gave me a lot of helpful tips for my own artwork, which is spectacular. I feel better already, even though I haven't touched my sketchbook since I left.
We did a lot of stuff around town, too- I tried Bubble Tea for the first time, which was amazingly good and met some of the coolest folks ever- I got hugs!
From GUYS!
I HAVE NO GUY FRIENDS HERE (OR FRIENDS, REALLY)
SO IT WAS GREAT
And we went to the zoo and I wanted to hug the hippos for they are adorable and covered with thin hairs. I met her family, who don't eat sugar or butter or pretty much anything with more than 0.5 calories in it, but I gave their hummus a shot and it was pretty tasty. I'd had it before, but I just don't think a spread should have... chunks in it.
The weather was great, and so were the doughnuts at this awesome little hole-in-the-wall stop called
VooDoo Doughnut. Their doughnuts are
spectacular. So I experienced new things, tried my hand at canvas painting for the first time, heard knew stuff, bought a hat from a cute hippie named Julian and got to know my best friend a whole lot better.
I'll post pictures soon, my camera is dead, though.
